… and it all looks f*cking delicious. The folks at Founders Entertainment outdid themselves this year when they curated this winning combination of the city’s best eats for The Governors Ball Music & Arts Festival, taking place on Randall’s Island May 31st – June 2nd. At the top of the ooey-gooey, sweet and savory lineup are a few featured mashups: Davey’s Ice Cream and Rise Brewing Co. just might be collaborating on some caffeinated cold brew floats, and though we’re not quite sure what The Doughnuttery and The Nugget Spot have in store, we’re almost certain it’s going to be deep-fried and sugar-coated in all of the best possible ways.
Much like the 9th annual edition’s winning musical roster, which features names like The Strokes, Gesaffelstein, The 1975 and Tyler the Creator, Gov Ball’s food and beverage selection is truly top-notch. Craft bites have become a huge part of the annual event’s attraction as guests continue to seek a unique and multi-faceted festival experience.
“Year after year, we look for new ways to raise the bar for our attendees, not only on stage but throughout the overall festival experience, and like many of our fans— we’re here to indulge,” says Gov Ball Festival Director, Jennifer Stiles. “Our team hand selects each and every vendor and are incredibly proud to present the full lineup—and particularly our 2019 new releases and mashup collaborations, a first for the festival. We are so thrilled that some of the best food teams in NYC are partnering to bring something new and exciting to our fans. This is hands down the most exciting and delicious food program Gov Ball has ever had.”
New to the food lineup are Cousin’s Maine Lobster, Walter’s Hot Dogs, Mekelberg’s, Milk & Cream Cereal Bar and King David Tacos. Returning are a slew of “Greatest Hits” , among them Roberta’s, Lil Sweet Chick, Coolhaus, Try Vegan and many more. Guests can wash all of those noms down with sips from Matcha Bar, John’s Juices and Renegade Lemonade. The 21+ crowd can imbibe on craft cocktails, like a Pina Colada from Bacardi, Tequila Palomas from Don Julio, Pablo Honeys from Tito’s Vodka and the list goes on.
